I aim to create beautiful, responsive, designs that are monitor, mobile, tablet, and search engine friendly. I also offer photography services, and custom website development work.

I don't just design the site. I put it out there for the world to see. I can answer questions and aid in setting up analytics as well as website indexing for search engines.

Website Management

I manage updates and backups for the website so that your website remains secure and up to date. I can also answer questions about website security vulnerabilities, and help you find solutions to those issues.

About Site Design Guru

Site Design Guru was founded by myself, Megan Northcutt. I have been in the tech industry for over 10 years. After years of working in the corporate world as a technical lead and website developer, I decided to split off and do what I love most, website design. I have a diverse background, spanning from Java and PHP development, to JavaScript/HTML5/CSS front-end work, databases/SQL, web security, and mobile web development; I am self taught in Illustrator and Photoshop as well as Photography. I am here to help with any questions/concerns you may have about your website, even if they aren't necessarily related to design.

My design approach is very simple and efficient. Since I have a background in programming, I begin laying out the site on the web immediately (although not visible by search engines initially). Sometimes I will put up a maintenance page if the url is already a known url. I do not provide initial photoshop mockups of the design, as all my design work can be seen in real-time. I will speak to clients initially about their design preferences, expectations, and requirements. After I have been given the website content, I can begin with the design. I work with Wordpress extensively, and have also worked with Shopify.
